Job description

Define, lead and execute the SCM commodity strategy for Metals; including Metals raw materials, screw, rivets and fasteners, stamped parts, and magnetic parts.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Lead Global Commodity Strategy: development and global implementation
  • Lead, manage and maintain Suppliers Segmentation within commodity
  • Participate on Global Commodity Buyers Council
  • Conduct Key Global Suppliers BUR’s and coordinate global negotiations
  • Meet/exceed global P2P annual performance targets for commodity group
  • Schedule and lead Commodity team meetings to ensure communication and information sharing between all buyers:
    • Quoting activity
    • Sourcing activity
    • Volumes / forecasts / allocations
    • Commodity trends – risks and opportunities
    • Supplier issues
    • Global competitiveness
    • Best practices for cost savings initiatives
    • Best practices for supplier performance improvement (delivery &quality)
  • Support and drive commodity “Quality Sourcing Process”
  • Be the market specialist for the Metals commodity basket
  • Ensure that global and regional commodity sourcing is maximized to obtain the greatest commercial, supply and technical advantage for Inteva
  • Lead and own global suppliers relationship management
  • Lead critical supplier issues resolution as required (supporting PC&L, CIPM, CITs)
  • Conduct or participate in annual PMA’s on-time (Phase I, II, & III)
Position Requirements
  • Minimum 10-years Procurement experience in high-volume manufacturing industry, automotive strongly preferred
  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience in respective commodity family
  • Bachelors degree required; business, finance, engineering preferred
  • Previous global and cross-functional exposure
  • Strategic thinking
  • Demonstrated strong leadership/management skills
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills
  • Above average working ability in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work cooperatively, build teamwork, and influence others
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
  • Ability and comfort level working in a matrix global organization structure
