The Component Engineering team at Apple is responsible for identifying, documenting, and releasing efficient electrical components from a variety of commodities for our hardware products. The team is a multi-functional extension of System Integration Electrical Engineering team, focusing on ensuring that the best components are selected for every electrical component in the product's design. We have an opportunity for a Component Engineer to join our team to drive the component selection process and perform in a consultative manner as the domain expert.

Description
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the intricate and complex issues impacting delivery for best-in-class Apple devices. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: project team support across electrical commodities as the resident component expert supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing and qualifying new components, tracking vendor roadmaps, suggesting alternate component solutions, negotiating/documenting/releasing technical specifications.
Other areas of focus may involve: locating and qualifying new potential component suppliers, evaluating issues and risks to the project, coordinating and tracking all component root cause failure analysis and implementing corrective action, commodity research which would include identifying supply chain opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
BSEE required
Good understanding/working knowledge of electrical components (passives, FETs, memory, regulators, etc.)
1-3 years of industry experience in an electrical engineering role or at least 1 internship.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to multi-task and to stay on schedule
Solutions initiator
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
