AWS/CES is NOW HIRING: Global Commodity Buyer

Location: Southfield, MI

Direct Hire | Full-Time

Fully Onsite

Salary: $70,000–$120,000 annually

We are currently seeking an experienced Global Commodity Buyer to join a growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic procurement professional with strong electronics sourcing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage global sourcing and procurement activities for assigned commodities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives and supplier performance improvements.
  • Monitor market trends, supply risks, lead times, and commodity pricing.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and other internal teams.
  • Ensure materials and components meet quality, cost, delivery, and technical requirements.
  • Support supplier selection, sourcing strategies, and new product development.
  • Manage purchasing activities while maintaining supply continuity.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in commodity buying, strategic sourcing, or procurement.
  • Strong experience with electronics procurement is required.
  • Knowledge of electronic components and related supply chains.
  • Experience sourcing commodities such as:

  • Circuit boards
  • Electronic components
  • Other electronic commodities
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and supplier relationship management abilities.
