Position Overview
As a Superintendent you will supervise all aspects of installation on large scale solar farm and power plant EPC construction projects. You will oversee field activities, supervise General Foremen/Foremen and Craft workers, interact with Technical Field Representatives, maintain schedule and cost control, ensure compliance with drawings and specifications, work with Quality Personnel to validate and document installation to specifications, and manage work assignments to ensure project execution.
District Overview
Kiewit Power Constructors (KPC) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a union craft force. Kiewit Power Constructors builds major EPC power plant and solar projects throughout North America. We offer integrated engineering, procurement, construction and startup service needs, specializing in gas and coal-fired power generation, coal retrofit and renewable energy.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct project teams by providing communication, coordination and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives; ensure project scope or work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood.
  • Manage and oversee the output from the engineering, constructability, procurement, construction and commissioning teams from detail design through commission and start up.
  • Establish project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for all engineering work; determine and oversee all project controls, schedules and budgets.
  • Serve as project representative with client, constructor, subcontractors, and vendors at kick-off meetings, job walks, project review, and other meetings and correspondence.
  • Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed.
  • Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with client, adjusting as necessary to comply with client needs within contractual obligations, or adjust project deliverables to meet client and Kiewit needs.
  • Ensure all work products are consistent with industry standards and in accordance with good engineering practice and applicable codes, and in compliance with all pertinent legal codes and requirements.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentoring to entry and mid-level Engineers to promote employee development.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years' work experience in a power or related market. Candidates for this role do not have to have Superintendent experience, those who have filled Foreman and General Foreman roles are encouraged to apply.
  • Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • Must be willing to relocate/and or travel.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and have a fluent understanding of the NEC.

Base Compensation: $110,760 - $165,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
