Job description

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Rehab

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days - 8 hour shifts.

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) effectively screens, evaluates, and rehabilitates patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders, developing appropriate plans of care in compliance with regulatory and clinical practice standards. The SLP utilizes standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.

  • Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, documenting in compliance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and modify services based on patient evaluation.
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and service providers related to speech disorders.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other health team members about patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Document all required information in the electronic documentation system while maintaining patient records according to company policy.
  • Accurately record treatment minutes for services provided based on regulatory and clinical requirements.
  • Participate in meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
  • Engage in required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
  • Obtain necessary DME or supplies as per regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and support CFY or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Adhere to ASHA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during practice.
  • 1 year of SLP experience is required.
  • LTC or Rehab experience is required.
  • Active Texas State License is required.
  • CCC certified SLP is required.
  • 3 years of experience holding active CCS is preferred.
  • Must have active ASHA and State Licensure.
