Job Description:
This position is based in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Department with a primary focus on providing general Speech - Language Pathology (SLP) evaluations and treatments which impact a patient's functional abilities. Services are to be provided in compliance with hospital standards, Joint Commission Home Health regulations, Alaska state licensure requirements, and the national professional guidelines established by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Speech - Language Pathologists are responsible for patient assessment, evaluation, establishing a plan of care, and therapeutic interventions. The role includes accountability for program development, quality improvement, problem-solving, and productivity enhancement.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide services by physician referral in multiple settings.
  • Perform assessments and evaluations to formulate therapy treatment plans.
  • Implement, supervise, and modify therapy plan of care based on patient response.
  • Review clinical records and collaborate with referring providers and rehabilitation professionals.
  • Document patient encounters and treatments according to hospital and/or Home Health policies.
  • Develop and conduct patient education and therapy programs.
  • Assist senior staff in administrative matters and utilize hospital systems for efficient information flow.
  • Provide therapy consultation, presentations, and in-service education as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • CCC-SLP licensed by the State of Alaska.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Pediatrics and Outpatient experience required.
