Job description

AK - Speech Language Pathologist - Adult and Peds

City/State: Sitka, Alaska

Shift: 10 Hour Days, 07:00:00-17:00:00

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Start Date: 09/14/2026

Job Description:

This position is based in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Department with a primary focus on providing general Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) evaluations and treatments which impact a patient's functional abilities. Services are to be provided in compliance with hospital standards, Joint Commission Home Health regulations, Alaska state licensure requirements, and national professional guidelines established by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide services by physician referral in multiple settings, including inpatient, outpatient, Home Health, and Long-Term Care.
  • Assess, evaluate, and implement treatment of Speech-Language Pathology services to patients.
  • Collaborate with other team members and document patients' encounter findings and treatments.
  • Develop and conduct patient education and therapy programs based on patient and/or family needs.
  • Community Service participation including video conferencing and home assessments.
  • Assist senior staff in administrative matters and maintain supply stocks.
  • Educate staff and patients on SLP issues and provide therapy consultation.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Must have CCC-SLP and be licensed by the State of Alaska in the field of Speech Language Pathology.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Experience in Pediatrics and Outpatient settings required.
  • AK License required at time of submittal.
  • Flu vaccine required.
