Job description

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Functional Systems Analyst position! This is a 12 mo+ contract-to-hire opportunity and will be hybrid in Charlotte, NC. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead the functional analysis and requirements gathering for a multi-year, greenfield retail application transformation initiative that will modernize the organization's technology stack and create next-generation scalable solutions
  • Partner directly with senior leadership to capture high-level strategic vision and translate it into actionable functional requirements and architectural direction
  • Collaborate with Business SMEs across multiple lines of business to drive feature definition, validate requirements, and create comprehensive documentation that guides development teams
  • Design and optimize modular, functionality-based system architecture that promotes shared components across business lines and delivers optimal user experiences
  • Create workflows and process documentation using Visio to illustrate complex system interactions and integration points across multiple interconnected platforms
  • Maintain enterprise-wide awareness of parallel projects and initiatives to identify dependencies, opportunities for synergy, and potential impacts on new development work
  • Operate within a SAFe Agile framework with flexible sprint structures, balancing strategic planning with tactical execution
  • Serve as a bridge between executive vision and technical implementation, ensuring alignment across stakeholders without requiring day-to-day direction

What You'll Need to Have:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Functional Systems Analyst working with enterprise-level systems and complex integration environments (not transitioning from small-scale work)
  • Proven track record working directly with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, validate concepts, and translate ideas into documented functional specifications
  • Strong functional analysis background with experience optimizing workflows and user experiences across interconnected systems
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and operate at a high conceptual level while maintaining awareness of downstream impacts and cross-project dependencies
  • Proficiency with Visio and workflow documentation tools to create clear, comprehensive system and process diagrams
  • Experience with ordering, fulfillment, or reporting systems in retail or similar high-volume transaction environments is preferred
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to take initiative, identify the right stakeholders, and drive outcomes independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach that builds relationships and avoids friction across teams

Pay Range: $55-60/hr
