Job description

Contract Opportunity Overview
CSS is partnering with a client that operates in a business-to-business (B2B) environment and is rapidly expanding its use of artificial intelligence across internal and client-facing solutions. Due to an influx of AI-related requests, we are seeking a highly qualified attorney with specialized experience in AI, emerging technologies, and regulatory frameworks to provide temporary support.

This role is ideal for an attorney who understands the complexities of AI in a B2B context, including vendor relationships, enterprise use cases, and data governance. You will play a key role in first-pass review, issue spotting, and triage of AI-related initiatives—helping identify legal and compliance risks and ensuring responsible AI implementation.

What Our Client Is Seeking

  • Experience reviewing and assessing AI/ML use cases, particularly in enterprise or B2B environments
  • Strong understanding of AI governance, model risk, and responsible AI frameworks
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and how they apply to AI and business clients
  • Familiarity with commercial contracts, vendor risk, and data-sharing considerations
  • Certifications or formal training in AI, data privacy, or technology law strongly preferred
  • Ability to quickly evaluate risk and determine appropriate escalation paths

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial intake review and triage of AI-related use cases and requests
  • Identify legal, regulatory, and compliance risks, particularly in B2B applications
  • Perform issue spotting and escalate complex matters to senior legal counsel
  • Support intake workflows by organizing and tracking AI-related submissions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, compliance, IT, and product teams
  • Assist in developing scalable AI governance and review processes

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar license in good standing
  • 4+ years of experience in technology law, data privacy, AI, or related fields
  • Experience supporting enterprise or B2B organizations preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment

Engagement Details

  • Location: Remote
  • Type: Contract / Temporary
  • Scope: AI intake, triage, and risk identification (non-advisory; escalation-focused)
