General Description:
The Pre-Salesperson achieves sales goals and distribution targets by servicing and developing assigned accounts.
This role operates with some supervision, and the expectation is for the individual to assist in establishing procedures for how and when to complete tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Sells all products in accordance with company guidelines and TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission).
• Ensures customer satisfaction by identifying needs, keeping customer priorities in mind and implementing effective solutions that help customers sell more products.
• Develops and maintains an effective rapport characterized by open communication and trust with all assigned customers.
• Continuously increases product knowledge to become an expert resource for customers.
• Applies the concept of "the salesperson you leave behind" to sell more product in each account.
• Schedules routes to ensure all customers are visited regularly.
• Effectively merchandises in all accounts by effective use of displays and point-of-sale (POS) items.
• Maintains adequate inventory and reduces or eliminates out-of-stocks at each customer account.
• Enters order information accurately and timely into the handheld sales enablement software.
• Monitors freshness of product at each account and ensures rotation or removal to meet company standards.
• Audits condition of all POS to ensure brand representation meets company standards.
• Completes training, seminars and classes assigned.
• Completes and submits sales, incentive, and other required reports accurately and on time.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least one year of sales experience.
• The ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers to understand their needs and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• A solid knowledge and understanding of all brands and packages for sale.
Physical Demands
• Walking, bending, reaching, standing, and squatting.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds for product demonstrations or event setups.
• Travel may require extended periods of driving.
• Ability to navigate various environments, including retail and food service locations.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment)
Involves frequent/infrequent, occasional, and routine exposure to:
• Exposure to various retail and food service environments, which may include noise, temperature fluctuations, and crowded spaces.
• Potential for exposure to product samples and promotional materials, requiring adherence to safety guidelines.
• Travel may involve risks, including adverse weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to warehouse settings, where moving equipment and inventory may pose safety risks.
• Other extreme hazards not listed above.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
• Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Must have a reliable personal vehicle for business travel. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
• Must be able to pass criminal background and drug screen.
• Certified Beverage Professional (CBP), Certified Sales Professional (CSP), food/beverage safety certification(s) (e.g., ServSafe), are a plus!
