Job description

Staff Accountant
Summary: The accountant performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling financial transactions, statements, records, and reports; assists in the preparation of the annual audit and year end closing; and completes ad-hoc special projects as required.
Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of sub-ledger detail to assigned general ledger accounts
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations and monthly bank reconciliations to assigned general ledger accounts
  • Analyze financial information, explain variances, and provide financial results to upper management with high level commentary
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Handle specific duties related to month-end closing process
  • Compile and analyze financial information such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions to support management decisions
  • Daily and monthly cash forecasting and debt management
  • Knowledge of and compliance with internal procedures and processes, staying aware and offering suggestions process improvements
  • Maintain full compliance with GAAP, company policies and procedures
  • Financial analysis projects, communicating results with recommendations to management
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Awareness of and commitment to established internal controls
  • Create and document standardized / established procedures relative to all daily and monthly responsibilities
  • Ad Hoc and all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Master's Degree and / or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in GL Accounting
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excel expertise to include lookups, pivot tables and advanced sorting and filtering.
  • Experience or knowledge of rebates and incentives environment

Required Attributes:
Capable of adapting to a changing environment (i.e. organizational, technological, etc.)
  • Self-started who takes initiative and has accountability for their work in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral/verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and peers.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Open and willing to follow established procedures, while identifying potential improvements

For US Candidates
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $50,600 to $70,000.
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
