Unit Specifics:

  • Number of Beds: 10
  • Patient Ratios: 2:1, 3:1
  • Unit staffing description: Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNC), RNs, PCTs, Nurse Externs
  • Type of equipment: Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, Vents, glucometer
  • Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
  • Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend, three 12 hours shifts
  • Floating policy: May float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED
  • Patient Experience requirements: At least 2 years of ICU experience

Hiring Profile

Requested Skill Set: CPAP and BiPAP management, Port access, therapeutic phlebotomy

Must have: 2 years ICU Experience

Advanced skills needed: preferred experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusion, ventilators

Procedures performed on unit: telemetry monitoring, paracentesis (physician led), BiPAP, therapeutic phlebotomy

Certifications Required: Active nursing license in good standing (with compact if indicated), BLS required, ACLS required, current NIH (must be certified annually)

Dress Code: (Required uniform) Navy or gray scrubs

Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines. Specific policies related to skill sets, procedures, etc. will be made available upon request, indicated need, and facility approval.
