Job description

Position Description: The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the accurate, complete, and timely communication of information to and from clients and staff. Will be responsible for completing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment including preparation of plans, reports, and design of sketches. Tasked with insuring the preparation of accurate and complete work products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and review of pressure regulators, flow meters, valves and other instrumentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations,
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering drawings and calculations,
  • Ensure consistency of drawings that are being submitted in terms of appearance, content, and standards in a timely manner,
  • Coordinate project assignments and deadlines with internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field,
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering in the state of California required,
  • 15+ years’ experience in gas distribution/transmission, utilities, or a related field,
  • Solid understanding with industry standards,
  • Prior experience in the oil and gas industry highly desired,
  • Ability to produce drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphics with CAD software,
  • Excellent technical, verbal and written communication skills,
  • Ability to multitask and work on several projects concurrently.
