Job description

Job Summary
The Senior Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides advanced clinical leadership and oversight for all psychiatric services at Assurance of Hope Institute (AHI). This role includes direct client care, supervision and mentorship of other ARNPs, quality assurance of psychiatric documentation, collaboration with the clinical director and medical director, and participation in multidisciplinary treatment planning to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with AHCA, CARF, and Medicaid regulations.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Oversight
  • Provide clinical supervision and oversight for all psychiatric nurse practitioners, prescribing clinicians and interns.
  • Review and co-sign treatment plans, medication management notes, and prescriptions as required by regulation or internal policy.
  • Ensure adherence to medical protocols, evidence-based prescribing practices, and ethical standards.
  • Support the development of standard medication management procedures and documentation templates.
Direct Clinical Services
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, follow-up medication management, and crisis interventions for adults and adolescents in the IOP and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, and the treatment team to coordinate holistic care.
  • Provide telepsychiatry and in-person services as scheduled.
Leadership and Training
  • Mentor and support ARNPs and nursing staff to promote clinical growth and consistency.
  • Conduct quarterly peer reviews and participate in QA/UR meetings.
  • Facilitate clinical training on psychopharmacology, co-occurring disorders, and medication adherence.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure all documentation meets Medicaid, AHCA, and CARF requirements (timeliness, legibility, medical necessity).
  • Participate in internal audits, chart reviews, and compliance investigations.
  • Collaborate with the billing and operations teams to ensure accurate coding and service capture.
Program Development
  • Contribute to expanding psychiatric services across AHIโ€™s programs (IOP, outpatient, PSR).
  • Participate in strategic planning and service integration (telepsychiatry, MAT expansion, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) with board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • Active Florida ARNP license and DEA registration in good standing.
  • Minimum 5+ years of psychiatric practice experience, including 2+ years of leadership, supervision, or medical director-level responsibilities.
  • Experience in behavioral health settings with co-occurring disorders, substance use, and serious mental illness.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid documentation standards, AHCA regulations, and CARF/Joint Commission accreditation standards preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with commitment to mentoring and ethical leadership.
