THE ROLE

Using discretion and judgment, the Managing Director oversees the division and Senior and Regional Consultants. Develops and maintains a close and direct relationship with the team, sales management and MFS clients. Partners with Senior Managing Director(s) to develop plans to implement sales strategy in respective markets.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Oversees personnel management for a sales team. Develops talent, sets goals and objectives and conducts performance discussions. Ensures staff is appropriately trained, instructed and kept current on issues affecting MFS and the industry. Makes decisions regarding employment, compensation and performance ratings in conjunction with the Senior Managing Director.
  • Oversees and ensures timely filing of expense reports, reviews call activity, and ensures compliance of the team with internal MFS regulations as well as external regulatory requirements.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends and developments in the market through intermediary contacts, trade press and industry associations.
  • Develops relationships and cultivates networks with people across a variety of functions within MFS, with customers, centers of influence and in the industry in order to effectively identify trends and opportunities.
  • Represents MFS as a presenter at appropriate forums, e.g., meetings with clients, shareholders and the general investment public.
  • Coaches team members to help ensure that goals are met, by providing resources, information and support. Travels with direct reports to observe selling skills, monitor performance and provide feedback.
  • Develops strategic plans and standards necessary to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Develops, implements and monitors the divisional business plans to achieve divisional and company goals. Communicates plans to teams and takes steps to ensure plans are implemented and goals are achieved within the territory in a timely and effective manner.
  • Sets challenging goals with expectations of high performance, promoting collaboration within the team, inspiring trust, building talent, driving for results and ensuring execution.
  • Structures effective territory management programs.
  • Maintains continuing education requirements, including annual compliance training and keeping current with MFS initiatives.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8-12+ years of related experience required and minimum of five years external sales experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, including goal setting, performance management, etc.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated leadership capability.
  • In-depth product knowledge and MFS knowledge regarding investment procedures.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, selling and presentation skills.
  • Ability to meet extensive travel requirements of the position.
  • Position requires FINRA licensing in accordance with MFS's policy.

Base Salary: $125,000.00 This position is eligible for competitive commission pay.

This range reflects our good-faith expectation forwhat we'll pay depending on the candidate's experience, training and education. In addition to the salary, we also offer significant and competitive incentive compensationbased on both individual and company performance. Other components of our Total Rewards Package include:

  • MFS contributes an amount equal to 15% of your base salary to your retirement account that is separate from the company -sponsored 401(k)
