Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Automated Ultrasonic Technician will perform UT inspections and Large Structure Inspections (LSI) of areas identified by inspection plans, susceptible locations, client requests, and follow-up requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

  • Perform required NDE of inspection areas as directed
  • Identify inspection locations in accordance with written procedures
  • Document inspection findings appropriately for the given method
  • Create UT Sketches for documenting locations and inspection results
  • Complete assigned inspections in a timely manner to ensure compliance with schedule
  • Perform all duties in accordance with applicable Mistras and client safety requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified and able to perform work as a Level II in ultrasonic testing.
  • Knowledge of B-scan and experience performing B-scan inspections
  • Successful completion of MISTRAS LSI training or certification for a comparable system.
  • Ability to pass a Rope Access Level I training course and become certified
  • Preference given to those with current Rope Access Level I Certification, and/or other NDE Certifications
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license

  • Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs.
