Position Description
  • Lead and oversee the procurement and planning teams for the tactical development, execution, and maintenance of the productions schedule for operations that effectively and efficiently meet the project and product demands established through sales-operations-planning process
  • Set strategy and oversee the tactical implementation and management of the material plan to support the demands of the production schedule
  • Develop and cultivate supplier relationships to drive collaborative supplier partnerships and continuous improvement to material flow
  • Efficiently conduct supplier negotiations via process driven methodologies
  • Manages suppliers to negotiate and resolve performance issues having an impact on costs, customer service or inventory
  • Communicate with suppliers concerning required products, volume, timing, costs and quality
  • Monitor and update prices, costs and inventory information in the company's supply chain and ERP system
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and methodology for communication between operations and our internal customers to ensure the accurate and timely flow of information and feedback between organizations
  • Partner with manufacturing and logistics to provide necessary support and ensure all groups are working in sync, communication is open, and results are focused on improving customer satisfaction, speed, cost, and inventory

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field/experience
  • 10+ years procurement/production planning experience in an engineered product, high mix/low volume manufacturing environment supporting repetitive and project based production
  • 5+ years' experience leading/supervising procurement or planning teams
  • Working knowledge of how sales forecasting impacts operations (Sales, Inventory, and Operations)
  • Working knowledge of supplier management, planning, work order creation, scheduling, variance analysis, shortage reporting, slot planning, lead time, capacity planning, ATP
  • Working knowledge of engineering change control; ECR, ECO, deviation and implementation, effectivity dates, revision control, interchangeability

Preferred Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of procurement, production planning and inventory control techniques, i.e. material planning master scheduling, and shop floor control in a high mix / low volume, highly engineered manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of Lean Manufacturing/Lean Supply Chain techniques
  • ERP system knowledge and experience (i.e., Baan, JDE, Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Syteline); Infor-CSI9 experience a plus
