Responsibilities - Design, build, and commission advanced electronic test equipment and repair fixtures to support evolving repair needs. - Develop and implement functional, diagnostic, and end-of-line test solutions for complex industrial electronic assemblies. - Create and maintain detailed documentation: electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and bills of material. - Lead validation, qualification, and commissioning of new test systems, including development of protocols and acceptance criteria. - Provide expert troubleshooting for PCBAs, power electronics, variable frequency drives, motor control, and embedded assemblies. - Analyze workflows, optimize facility/cell layouts, and standardize workstations using Lean Manufacturing principles. - Drive process improvements to maximize technician productivity, streamline material flow, and minimize repair cycle times. - Lead equipment migration, facility transitions, and support operational ramp-up for increased repair capacity. - Deliver comprehensive operational assessments, future-state designs, and robust deployment strategies. - Develop and implement standardized operating procedures and work instructions for all repair and testing processes. Required Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent. - 10+ years in electronics manufacturing, repair, test engineering, or industrial systems support. - Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies and power electronics. - Proven track record designing, building, and commissioning electronic test equipment. - Experience leading manufacturing transitions, facility ramp-ups, or operational startups. - Strong knowledge of industrial process flow, Lean Manufacturing, and cell-based production. - Skilled in developing technical documentation and work instructions. - Project management excellence with strong organizational skills. - Effective verbal and written communicator. Preferred Skills - Industry experience in elevator, transportation, or industrial automation electronics repair. - Expertise with elevator electronics, drive systems, variable frequency drives, and industrial power systems. - Hands-on with National Instruments (NI) platforms, LabVIEW, PLC-based test systems, and Automated Test Equipment. - Experience in repair depot or remanufacturing environments. - Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering certifications.
