Job description

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Technician to join a growing team supporting commercial, industrial, and municipal facilities throughout the Gulf Coast region. This field-based position is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing HVAC control systems and building automation systems (BAS). The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with DDC controls, and enjoys working directly with customers and project teams to deliver high-quality system performance.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and commission HVAC controls and building automation systems (BAS)
  • Perform controller startup, point-to-point verification, wiring inspections, and system testing
  • Troubleshoot DDC controls, controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, and communication networks
  • Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and project documentation
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, control, communication, and system performance issues
  • Support startup, functional testing, and system optimization for new and existing installations
  • Coordinate with project managers, programmers, engineers, subcontractors, and customers throughout project execution
  • Train end users on system operation and basic maintenance
  • Complete service reports, startup documentation, and project records accurately and on time
  • Follow all company safety standards and jobsite requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience installing or servicing HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, or similar low-voltage control systems
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment and control sequences
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Experience with BAS controllers, sensors, actuators, relays, and field devices
  • Excellent electrical and controls troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable working independently at commercial, industrial, and municipal facilities
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel locally to project sites throughout the Gulf Coast region
  • Experience with one or more BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Distech, Alerton, or Carrier
  • Experience commissioning new construction or retrofit HVAC control systems
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks communication protocols
  • EPA Certification or electrical license is a plus
