Job description

Job Summary/Company: Sparks Group has partnered with a rapidly growing global leader in perimeter security automation systems to identify a Senior Field Engineer. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong PLC/HMI programming experience who enjoys field work, troubleshooting complex systems, and traveling to customer sites throughout the U.S. and occasionally internationally. Candidates should be comfortable working on active construction sites, supporting installations and commissioning efforts, and traveling up to 50% based on project demands.

Responsibilities:
• Program, troubleshoot, and commission PLC- and HMI-based control systems utilizing RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View platforms.
• Support installation, startup, testing, and field service activities for automated access control and perimeter security systems at customer sites nationwide.
• Coordinate with contractors, project teams, and end users while documenting technical findings, creating reports, and ensuring successful project execution.

Qualifications:
• Strong PLC programming experience, including ladder logic development, troubleshooting, and implementation in industrial automation environments.
• Experience with HMI programming, networking fundamentals, motor controls, servo systems, and electrical troubleshooting using common test equipment.
• Ability to travel up to 50% domestically (with occasional international travel), work on active construction sites, and pass a Secure-level background investigation.
