Assistant Golf Professional - Job Description
Position Overview:
The Golf Professional must have an established credential background that aligns with club standards. This individual must lead by example and possess a strong sense of guiding all essential aspects of the facilities and service. At times this position could be asked to work outside part time during June through September.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 Seasons operating as an Assistant Golf Professional at a High-Level Service Facility.
High Energy, Positive Attitude, with a complete love of the golf business and creating a memorable experience.
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
Skilled at motivating and empowering golf staff into successful team members
Able to blend with current operational standards, yet adept enough to contribute toward short and long range strategic planning
Possess the ability to solving opportunities and fair judgment
Passionate Instructor that can focus on building relationships and improving player development
IT literate with core computer platforms Golf Genius & Jonas
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively contribute to overall operational success
Serve as an ambassador of the club by tirelessly promoting, serving and representing Golden Ocala and understanding the importance of both the golf operation and the club as a whole.
Ladies Golf Coordinator - create player development, weekly games, and an overall enjoyable experience for all female golfers.
Maintain an organized stock room and golf shop counter.
Develop reels, videos and other fun ways to market the golf experience at GO.
Use creativity to help grow the game and create memorable experiences for the staff, guests & membership
Work closely with the Outside Services; monitoring and maintaining the required pace of play and managing the practice areas
Maintain a respected professional image with the club and North Florida PGA Section
Play golf with all skill levels of the membership
Be an active student of the golf business. Play, network, learn and travel.
Supervise and maintain an exceptional appearance in the Golf Shop.
Promote a first-class Member shopping environment to include gift-wrapping & personal shopper experience(s)
Oversee a vibrant special-order business and manage placing, tracking, receiving & distribution of special orders, including communicating expected ship date & receipt
Maintain excellent member relations and ensure Member expectations are met
Maintain excellent filing of records
Assist with all daily procedures.
Promote special events in the weekly club e-mail
Assist with monthly inventory and ensure systems and procedures are implemented to manage inventory levels, returns and markdown.
Attend merchandise shows and conferences to stay current with industry trends.
Compensation:
$50,000 Salary
Non-Member Outing Gratuities - Outside Events range from $2-$4 per bag split amongst the team.
Outside Staff Gratuity - Outside Staff Shifts - Tips split each day
90% of Instruction & Junior Camp Revenue
Club Repair Commission when Hunter is not available
