Job description

The Vice President, IT Gaming and Hospitality provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all technology services supporting the Tribe's casino gaming, hospitality, hotel operations, food & beverage and entertainment. This executive is responsible for aligning technology with business objectives, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining a secure and highly available IT environment, and driving innovation that enhances guest experiences and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and execute the enterprise IT strategy supporting casino and hospitality operations.
2. Lead all casino technology systems, including Casino Management Systems (Oasis 360, SYNKROS, IGT Advantage), slot systems, player tracking, loyalty platforms, TITO, cashless gaming, and sportsbook technologies.
3. Oversee hospitality technology platforms, including PMS, POS, reservation systems, guest Wi-Fi, and mobile applications.
4. Ensure compliance with Tribal Gaming, State Gaming Commission, PCI-DSS, and cybersecurity requirements.
5. Direct enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud services, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and IT operations supporting 24/7 environments.
6. Partner with Gaming Operations, Marketing, Finance, Security, and Hospitality leadership to deliver business-focused technology solutions.
7. Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, technology investments, and contract negotiations.
8. Lead and develop a high-performing IT organization focused on service excellence and innovation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field is required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive IT leadership and strong understanding of network and infrastructure operations experience required.
  • Minimum ten (10) years supervisory experience of senior IT leadership within casino gaming and hospitality organizations required.
  • Proven experience supporting casino resorts and 24/7 operations.
  • Required hands-on leadership experience with:
    • Casino Management Systems
    • Hotel PMS and hospitality systems
    • Slot accounting and gaming floor technologies
    • Player loyalty, one card and rewards platforms
    • Cashless gaming and cage operations systems
    • Gaming regulatory compliance and audits

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Strong project management acumen, excellent vendor management skill, plus a superior, service-oriented approach to infrastructure operations.
  • Experience in large-scale operations.
  • Must be culturally competent and effective in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Effective at presenting information and responding to questions and/or concerns from management, staff, customers, public groups, regulatory agencies, and/or the Business Committee.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills required with good motivational and collaboration emphasis; communicates change effectively, overcomes resistance and builds commitment.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
