Senior Software Engineer, Apple Game Services

The iCloud Platform team helps power the Apple device ecosystem. From CloudKit to Apple Push Notification service to QuickRelay, our cloud services are deeply integrated into our operating systems. Design, develop, and operate applications that power Apple Games and in-game experiences for games integrated with the GameKit framework.

Partner with teams across Apple to develop and ship new customer-facing features.

Drive project execution from design reviews to production releases.

Deploy, scale, and maintain highly concurrent and throughput intensive services.

Triage, investigate, and remediate production and operational issues.

12+ years of experience developing and operating production services in Java.

Strong design skills; familiar with algorithms & data structures.

Experience with Distributed Systems or Database Internals.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent degree.

Experience with client-server application development.

Experience working on applications that power end user experiences.

Game development experience.

Experience in driving large cross functional projects that require stakeholders alignments.

NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, FoundationDB.

Great teammate; you're articulate, and you can explain complex concepts to anybody.

Persistence and investigative spirit; you won't let go of a problem or requirement until you understand it, inside and out; you can lead a project from the definition to its successful deployment.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
