Job description

Position Description This is a full time, Non-Civil Service position with Metro Action Commission. The Head Start Teacher 2 is under the direct supervision of the Head Start Center Manager and the general supervision of Head Start Assistant Center Manager. Typical Duties Help children develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally Plan, document, and implement daily lesson plans and special activities Attend staff meetings, training and other related meetings as requested Responsible for all consultation(s) with parents Maintain current records, perform tasks associated with the education component, and assure confidentiality Maintain proper supervision of children at all times indoors and outdoors Document and implement integration of component events in the classroom (i.e., handwashing, toileting, tooth brushing, preparing children for health services and community visits) Report any children concerns to the (assigned) Parent, Family, Community, and Engagement Advocate Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the immediate supervisor Insure daily implementation of the family style food service Support and assist volunteers serving in the education program Assume other task-related duties as requested Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
