Our client, a leader in the life sciences and diagnostics industry, is looking for a “Field Service Engineer” based out of Atlanta, GA.
Duration: Long Term Contract(Possibility Of Further Extension)
Pay Rate: $45/hr on W2
This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers with a background in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering disciplines who are passionate about troubleshooting advanced diagnostic instruments and delivering exceptional customer support.
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, and technical support of Roche diagnostic systems at customer sites. The ideal candidate is technically inclined, customer-focused, and willing to travel to support healthcare laboratories and hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and commission Roche diagnostic instruments at customer locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, hardware/software upgrades, and technical service bulletins (TSBs) on laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and system-related issues using established procedures.
- Perform routine calibration, validation, reagent conversions, and system performance verification.
- Document all service activities, maintenance records, and customer interactions in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate service reports, inventory records, and expense documentation.
- Build strong relationships with customers by providing professional technical support and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve service quality.
- Follow company quality standards, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Participate in technical training programs and maintain required product certifications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0–5 years of experience in field service, technical support, instrumentation, or laboratory equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and basic information technology.
- Basic understanding of chemistry and laboratory environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build positive customer relationships.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience servicing medical devices, laboratory instruments, or diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance, calibration, and equipment installation.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking fundamentals, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Experience working in regulated healthcare, biotechnology, diagnostics, or life sciences environments.
- Previous customer-facing technical support or field service experience is a plus.
