Job description

Description
This position is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to increase sales and market share within the engineered film plastics industry, focusing on finding new customers in Laminate, TPU, and other Extruded flexible films.
Ideal candidate will have both a technical, and a business acumen.
Ideal candidate will be in the S/SE Region, or the Midwest Region of Chicago to OH.
**Not eligible for work sponsorship
ACTUAL WAGE WILL BE BASED ON RELATED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE. Compensation structure includes base pay plus commission.
Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the plastics film manufacturing sector, specifically in laminate, TPU, and extruded flexible films.
  • Pipeline Development and Management: Manage a pipeline for both short-term and long-term business sales growth within the healthcare, building products, and industrial markets.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve growth targets.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Sales Generation: Negotiate contracts, close deals, and manage pricing and contractual issues.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure customer satisfaction and alignment.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at trade shows and networking events.
  • Reporting: Monitor sales performance, forecasting, and reporting on key metrics.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.

Requirements
Skills and Abilities
  • Must have the ability to form and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Must be team oriented but able to thrive in an independent, home-based role.
  • Must have excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be demonstrate a deep technical knowledge of the company products and abilities.
  • Must have effective time management balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and customer requests.
  • Must be proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years in plastics or chemical industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Commercial experience in Sales or Technical Fields.
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • Knowledge of engineered film such as laminate, TPU, and other extruded flexible film required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Regularly
  • Position requires 50% travel, includes overnight stays, must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face, and on-line communication tools such as TEAMs.
  • Required to sit for prolonged periods of time as well as look at a computer screen.
  • Operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine and printer.

Frequently
  • Coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions.

Occasionally
  • Lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.

Other
  • Standard office environments. The noise level is typically low, due to office equipment.
