Job description

The Role

The Rental Representative role is a highly autonomous position designed for entrepreneurial professionals who thrive on building trust-based relationships within the entertainment lighting industry. You'll develop and manage your own portfolio of clients, influence equipment specifications, create new business opportunities, and partner with our Project Management and Operations teams to deliver flawless show execution.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain strategic client relationships through proactive in-person meetings, job-site visits, networking, and regular follow-ups.
  • Influence product specifications by developing a deep technical understanding of Christie Lites' rental equipment and positioning solutions with lighting designers and other key decision-makers during the specification process.
  • Develop and execute annual relationship and revenue growth plans in partnership with the VP of Rentals.
  • Monitor portfolio performance by reviewing commission and show reports, resolving client concerns, and identifying opportunities to expand existing business.
  • Partner with Project Management to ensure accurate quotations, equipment reservations, order details, and seamless execution from booking through invoicing.
  • Champion Christie Lites' business practices, including the Official Rental Product Line and the One Contact-One Rep client model.
  • Operate independently while collaborating with the VP of Rentals, National Rentals Manager, Project Management, and Operations teams to deliver exceptional client service.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in stage lighting, production, related entertainment/event industry sales or relationship-based B2B sales
  • Demonstrated success sourcing your own leads, developing new business opportunities, and building long-term client relationships.
  • Strong technical understanding of lighting equipment, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including evenings and weekends to client sites and events.
