Responsibilities

  • Maintains a positive attitude at all times while adhering to all company and departmental policies and procedures and state regulations as relates to this position. 
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with their fellow peers in training, respective course instructors and supervisors, and all departmental and company leaders for Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast and Boomtown Casino Biloxi.  
  • Follows game procedures and trainings when dealing Blackjack, Carnival Games, Craps, Roulette, Poker, Baccarat, and any other form or variation of table games.  
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. 
  • Responsible for attending all classes of dealer training and adhering to daily attendance requirements. 
  • Successful pass of dealing school and must be able to successfully complete a Table Games audition displaying adequate Table Games dealing skills.

Time Commitment 

Time Commitment: Hours per class session may vary. 3 days per week minimum. This course covers a grouping of games considered “secondary” / “carnival” / “novelty” games. The category of these games can be extensive; the current games included listed below. You will learn the rules of play for each game, standard poker rankings, calculating payout odds, and more. 

  • Blackjack 
  • Three Card Poker 
  • More potentially to be determined by department 

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Able to read, speak and comprehend English. Bilingual/multilingual a plus. 
  • Able to qualify for licensing with the Mississippi Gaming Commission. 
  • Pass dealer assessment and audition upon certification and completion of training. 
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate. 
  • Speaks clearly and politely; responds well to questions; and contributes to building a positive team spirit. 
  • Able to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees. Must be diplomatic and tactful. Previous customer service experience preferred. 
  • Must be able to perform mathematical computations when determining winners and losers and collecting and paying out bets quickly and accurately when in Dealer School for training purposes. 
  • Demonstrate fast and accurate handling of practice cash and chip handling. 
  • Position requires fast, repetitive motion of hands and wrists and frequent reaching and bending over gaming tables. May occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. 
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum eight (8) hour shift.  
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in an environment where smoking is permitted and with higher-than-normal noise levels. 
  • Excellent verbal communication required. 
  • Must be able to obtain a Gaming Permit.
