Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level II Trauma Center in Colorado, requiring trauma and neuro experience with night shift availability.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting in an OR with 16 suites averaging approximately 30 cases per day
  • Common case types include general, ENT, neuro, spine, ortho, and robotics
  • Trauma and neuro cases are a significant part of the caseload
  • Night shift position: 2100–0700, 10-hour shifts
  • Available shifts also include 0630–1900 and 0900–2130
  • 13-week contract
  • Call requirement of approximately 120 hours per contract, shared in rotation with staff
  • Call response time is 30 minutes
  • On-call responsibilities cover weeknights, weekends, and holidays (4th of July coverage preferred)
  • Floating may be required within Zone 1 facilities in cases of extreme need
  • Charting system: Epic
  • RN scrubbing is not required
  • Charge nurse experience is preferred; a charge nurse and house supervisor are on shift
  • 2 OR techs on shift
Requirements
  • Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required; pending certifications are not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
  • Trauma and neuro OR experience required
  • Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility (driver's license used to verify permanent address)
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Unit-specific orientation is provided; clinicians must be on-site for the week of orientation even if initial modules are completed remotely
  • Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
  • Travelers are expected to be able to float within their assigned zone and are responsible for securing housing that supports this requirement
  • BSN is not required for this position
