Job description

Position Summary

The OpTime/Anesthesia Applications Analyst II is a business specialist and technology generalist responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies. The role proactively identifies opportunities to apply technologies to business processes by informing and advising customers on information system technologies’ functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation requirements. The analyst acts as a technical liaison and broker of services with vendors, maintaining credibility and effective relationships with customer management and IT personnel. The position requires forward‑thinking individuals who seek opportunities to apply technology to improve business processes within strategic system goals.

Job Requirements

Education: Associate’s degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience). Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 2+ years in business systems analysis, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms; or
  • Business unit experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of systems.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of the assigned business area’s products and processes.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in simple terms for the business.
  • Understanding of project management concepts for planning and implementing multiple projects in a cross‑functional environment.
  • Strong written communication skills, including project documentation and technical writing.
  • Strong verbal communication skills when interacting with team members, other IT teams, end users, and other departments.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; demonstrated track record in new concept development for various projects and complex technical plans.
  • Ability to solve problems spanning multiple environments in a business area.
  • Understanding of how IT affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes.
  • Team player; flexible, friendly, congenial, and enthusiastic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Additional Experience Desired
  • Business process re‑engineering or process improvement experience, involving broad-based information systems and tools/techniques to effect business change.
  • Experience in the strategic use of technology to manage and grow a business.
  • Experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.
  • HL7 knowledge is a plus.
Other Requirements

Some night and weekend hours required as needed. Occasional travel to BMC locations required as needed. Upon hiring, completion of Epic’s proficiency program must be finished within 90 days. All staff must be vaccinated against COVID‑19 and flu, and receive a booster dose of the COVID‑19 vaccine.

Compensation

Base salary range: $71,500.00 – $104,000.00, based on educational level, experience, and skills. Total compensation may include medical, dental, vision, pharmacy benefits, discretionary annual bonuses, merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and other employee and family well‑being resources.
