Job description

Lead the Architecture of High-Volume Electrical Harnesses

Step into a role where you are the resident Zuken expert guiding end-to-end wiring harness and supporting PCBA design for products built at scale. You will translate requirements into manufacturable schematics, layouts, and complete build packages while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, mass-produced hardware.

A Day in the Life
  • Transform product requirements into detailed harness schematics, 2D layouts, pinout tables, and assembly drawings using Zuken.
  • Define wire gauges, shielding, grounding strategies, and connector interfaces with an eye toward electrical integrity and environmental needs.
  • Develop and maintain PCBA schematics and layouts that interface cleanly with the harness architecture.
  • Generate manufacturing-ready documentation and BOMs that enable smooth, high-yield production.
  • Select components and connectors based on electrical, mechanical, environmental, and factory constraints.
  • Champion reliability, manufacturability, and certification-readiness in every design decision.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, test, and quality teams to de-risk builds and scale to volume.
What You’ll Own
  • End-to-end electrical wire harness design for high-volume production.
  • Schematic creation, harness layout, and assembly documentation in Zuken.
  • PCBA schematic and layout development aligned to harness interfaces.
  • Design choices that meet reliability, manufacturability, and certification targets.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Subject Matter Expert proficiency in Zuken; you operate independently without design hand-holding.
  • Proven track record delivering complete harness designs and documentation.
  • Hands-on PCBA schematic and layout experience.
  • Deep command of core electrical principles: voltage/current behavior, grounding strategies, basic EM physics.
  • Fluency in harness component and connector selection criteria.
  • Knowledge of harness assembly methods and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong grasp of PCBA fundamentals (schematic capture and layout).
Preferred Background
  • Automotive or other high-volume manufacturing domains.
  • Experience launching products at massive scale (millions of units).
  • Demonstrated focus on reliability, manufacturability, and scalability.
Bonus Knowledge
  • IP ratings and strategies for environmental protection.
  • Electrical certification considerations.
  • DFM and DFA best practices.
Top Priorities
  1. Zuken expertise
  2. PCBA design experience
  3. Strong electrical fundamentals
Tool Proficiency
  • Zuken
