Capacity of Texas, Longview, TX is seeking an Electric Vehicle Field Support Engineer to support product development. In this role you will be responsible for commissioning, start up and conduct necessary training of EV trucks at factory, customer sites and ensure that products perform as intended and meet customer requirements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Manage small crew of technical assemblers and assemblers. 
  • Validate that the new products and updated products meet engineering requirements and manufacturing readiness. Ability to determine root cause to problems and identify alternate solutions to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Review test plans, identify instrumentation needed for testing, conduct testing, analyze test results. Utilize engineering systems to look up models and drawings and material specifications.
  • Develop technical summary reports and communicate findings and lessons learned.
  • Conduct field commissioning to support truck builds along with validation and updation of software prior to delivery to the field.
  • Support engineering in leading field campaigns and creation of technical and communication documents including bulletins and service manuals.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and tools to resolve technical problems. Document and maintain Devlog as issues arise and likely resolutions.
  • Diagnose system level issues by utilizing vendor specific diagnostics guides, tools and utilities.
  • Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make the test more reliable, efficient and cost effective.
  • Facilitates the adoption of new techniques and processes to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and product improvements.
  • Support development of training programs and conduct training at factory or at customer sites.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree of Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent education required. Electrical or related field of study in Electrical degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years minimum experience with field technical services support processes and management.
  • Prior experience in diagnostic test engineering roles.
  • Experience/ familiarity with electrification products and driveline components is a plus.
  • Experience with CANalyzer tool and its functionality is a plus.
  • Strong emphasis on carrying out tasks with high level of accuracy and precision.

 

Work Environment/Conditions:

  • REMOTE
  • Ability to travel (75% of the time). Travel may be at short notice.
