Job description

Join a team where your expertise makes a meaningful impact. At Greystone Golf and Country Club, we're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who enjoys more than just balancing the books.

The Staff Accountant will provide accounting and administrative support for Greystone Golf & Country Club (GGCC) and the two homeowners associations (HOAs) managed by GGCC. This position is responsible for general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, reserve fund tracking, audit coordination, and homeowner account administration. The role also provides first-level desktop IT support, coordinates advanced technical support with the Club's third-party IT provider, and monitors support ticket activity.

Essential Functions:HOA Financial Administration
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
  • Complete monthend close, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and HOA Board financial packages
  • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
  • Analyze account activity, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records with supporting documentation
  • Manage annual audits and financial reviews
  • Assist with collections, delinquency reporting, and payment plan administration
  • Respond to homeowner inquiries regarding assessments, payments, and account balances
  • Maintain homeowner account records and ensure compliance with governing documents, accounting standards, and internal controls
  • Accounting, Budgeting & Compliance
  • Reconcile bank, investment, and reserve fund accounts.
  • Assist with monthend and yearend closing activities.
  • Assist in preparing annual operating and reserve budgets for GGCC and the HOAs.
  • Coordinate documentation for annual audits and tax filings.
  • Attend HOA Board meetings as requested to present financial information and answer questions
  • Assist management with financial analysis, special projects, and process improvements
  • Support accounting system enhancements and departmental process documentation
  • Serve as support and backup for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions
  • IT Support
  • Provide firstlevel desktop IT support and coordinate escalated issues with the Club's thirdparty IT provider
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
  • Full understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience with ERPs, accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Some combination of training and experience in PC technical support, OR one year of experience as a PC technician preferred.
  • Knowledge of commonlyused concepts, practices, and procedures for PC repair preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple associations, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Hospitality, private club, restaurant, hotel, or serviceindustry experience is a plus.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
  • Ability to occasionally lift to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to move throughout the Club as needed.
