Role Accountability

In order to achieve this state of success, this position will counsel our commercial lenders with regard to cash flow, risk analysis, loan structure, and resource referrals. Additionally, this position will identify problem loans and direct these to the VP, Commercial Credit Officer in a timely fashion.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support lending staff in the identification and assessment of business-purpose loan opportunities.
  • Complete financial statement analysis, spreads, projections, personal cash flow analysis, consolidated cash flow analysis, and risk grade documentation.
  • Demonstrate mentoring regarding loan structure, eligibility, credit issues and underwriting to members of the commercial banking department.
  • Assist in the evaluation of loan requests by performing initial underwriting and risk grade analysis in preparation for approval.
  • Perform industry research and assessment when needed by the VP, Commercial Credit Officer.
  • Identify problem loans and direct this to the VP, Commercial Credit Officer in a timely fashion.
  • Support the VP, Commercial Credit Officer in NCUA Examinations and CUNA Risk Assessments
  • Monitor Special Asset credits and work with Commercial Credit Officer to develop and execute viable exit strategies and business plans.
  • Develop a network for information exchange with other financial institutions to insure best practices.
  • Develop and refine underwriting and analysis tools for Commercial/Industrial, Commercial Real Estate, and other business purpose loans.
  • Ensure and manage the portfolio for accurate loan documentation, exception issues and loan processing in accordance with NCUA regulations and standard operating procedures and Allegacy Lending policy.
  • Completion of all required compliance training to include BSA.
  • Represent AFCU in the communities we serve by actively participating in civic affairs and local and professional organizations to enhance AFCU's image.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
