Summary -
Newport Beach Auto Group is offering an opportunity that offers support, appreciation, and the chance to grow. 

Automotive Technician – Essential Duties

  •  Perform and document all maintenance and repair work with efficiency and accuracy on customer’s vehicles and dealership inventory vehicles
  •  Comply with dealership and factory standards
  •  Test and diagnose vehicle malfunctions and concerns with efficiency and accuracy
  •  Perform multi-point inspections and make recommendations as to which services and repairs are needed to make vehicles safe and completely operational
  •  Maintain flexibility for when job priorities shift, such as emergencies, workload, rush jobs or technology developments
  •  Safely road test vehicles as required on pre-planned routes
  •  Ensure top quality repairs to minimize comebacks
  •  Maintain high levels of Technician efficiency regarding clocked hours vs. flagged hours, worked hours vs. attended hours
  •  Communicate with Service Advisors to recommend additional safety or service work, adjust repair orders, or if a repair cannot be completed by the promised time
  •  Communicate with parts department to quote and receive parts required
  •  Retain and tag defective warranty parts
  •  Continued advancement of knowledge and education by maintaining brand certifications, training courses, studying technical bulletins, and willingness to learn from daily experiences
  •  May require interaction with clients to explain difficult diagnoses or technical repairs
  •  Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace
  •  Keep professional appearance and provide friendly customer service
  •  Assist fellow technicians and other team members
  •  Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules
  •  Perform additional tasks as directed by Service and Parts Director or your immediate supervisor

 

Automotive Technician – Requirements:

  • Ability to clearly communicate in person and by telephone with co-workers and customers regarding the service requirements of the vehicle
  • Daily attendance that is consistent, regular, and timely
  • English reading and math skills sufficient to read all contracts and manufacturer’s information
  • Mentally recalls, tracks, and accurately recounts work in progress; the ability to accurately apply pertinent repair information
  • Completes required forms, documents, and reports as needed
  • Cooperative and courteous manner with customers, co-workers, and management personnel
  • Operates all machinery safely and with a high level of expertise
  • Be a certified technician with experience from 2+ years as an automotive technician to 7+ years as a manufacturer-certified dealership technician
  • Automotive Trade School Graduate
  • Solid mechanical skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to operate power and hand tools, and other types of machinery
  • Knowledge of the automotive repair life cycle
  • Attention to detail; organization and follow-up skills
  • Your own set of tools
  • Valid in-state driver’s license, and acceptable, safe driving record
  • Ability to operate manual transmission

Education/Experience:

Automotive Trade School Graduate

Experience 5+ years as a High Line European Automotive Dealership Technician

 

Physical Demands:

Must be able to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance, to transport and stock assigned supplies and materials; to pick-up from vendors and deliver stock and materials to customers upon request, to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb to reach materials (must be able to climb a step ladder at approximately three feet in height and to work from a lift up to twenty feet in height).
