Purpose:ย The Senior Manager,ย Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FS & QA),ย Commissary Regulations & Supplier Onboardingย isย responsible forย managingย commissary food safety plans and FDA registrations and for ensuring the safety of food and beverage suppliers contracted by Avolta North America.ย ย 

Essential Functions:ย 

  • Creates andย maintainsย a database of commissary operations to include commissary contacts, site specific scope of production, Food Safety Plans, and FDA Registration numbersย 

  • Ensures each supplier is vetted and annually recertified forย appropriate foodย safety audits, practices, and registrations as required by Avolta and regulatory authoritiesย 

  • Create job aids and SOPs to ensure compliance with regulations; provides FSMA training and annual refresher training to management and commissary staffย 

  • Champions a positive food safety culture, helping Operations achieve active managerial control byย demonstratingย knowledge, with a focus on brand protection through education and collaborationย 

  • Reviews supplier audits to ensure compliance for sanitation, GMP's, food security and defense and coaches' suppliersย regardingย next steps to make improvementsย 

  • Supportsย with follow up on product recalls or withdrawalsย 

  • Developsย andย maintainsย effective collaborative working relationship with Supply Chain andย Operationsย management teams to assure food safety complianceย andย reduce potential company liability and riskย 

  • Activelyย participatesย in industry events and technical associations such as the National Restaurant Association (NRA) FS-QA group and the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), Conference for Food Protection (CFP)ย

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:ย ย 

  • Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceedย 6ย years:ย 

  • In a leadership role: Requires 2 years of experienceย partnering withย senior-levelย ย operationsย team membersย engaged in executing Food Safety & Quality Assurance programsย ย 

  • In a technical role: Requiresย 6ย years of experience engaged in delivering Food Safety & Quality Assurance programsย 

  • A bachelor's degree in a program related to the functional area can count forย 2ย of theย six-yearย requirementย 

  • An MBA or a master's level degree in a program related to the functional area can count for anย additionalย 2 years of theย six-yearย requirementย ย 

  • In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality/ F&B experienceย ย 

  • ServSafe Food Safety Certificationย requiredย ย 

  • CP-FS (Certified Professional Food Safety) preferredย 

  • Specialized Training:ย ย
