Job Title: Commercial Service Manager - located in Caldwell, ID

Reports to: Store Manager (or similar position)

FLSA Status: Exempt   

Job Type: Full-Time

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a manager position that oversees and operates the service routes and tire areas in a professional manner. This position supervises and maintains staff to appropriate levels; and assists the store manager in operating the store in a safe, profitable, clean, and positive manner. Works closely with the Store Manager to achieve overall sales, service and operational objectives. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides customers with knowledge, courteous and prompt service at all times & a team player committed to continuous improvement.
  • Exemplifies & enforces Commercial Tire’s safety guidelines & store standards. Ensures employees attend and adhere safety meetings and goals, which includes timely reporting of accidents and completed documentation of such events.
  • Directly supervise & train employees: assign work schedules to maintain staffing levels in the route service & shop areas, including coordinating lunch & vacation scheduling, and assignment development.
  • Evaluate employee performance, disciplinary actions as warranted. Conduct interviews and assist with hiring decisions.
  • Assists in training commercial service techs to TIA & Commercial Tire standards, and supports operational compliance.
  • Schedule efficient routes for service techs & dispatch service calls for emergency & scheduled service. This includes maintaining a dispatch log, inventory billing, and record keeping.
  • Leads weekly service meetings & communicates with the outside service team to exceed customer needs.
  • Reviews, writes and processes work orders & tickets, maintains repair order records, schedules appointments, and initiates purchase orders. All items/ orders to be updated in our system. 
  • Vendor Relations: Purchases & monitors shop supplies, and those from vendors, adhering to work order/rebill program per policy. Follows up with credits & returns in a timely fashion.
  • Oversees vehicle inspections to company standard, from which then recommends preventative maintenance to help sell services & tires to customers, if warranted. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS - Required

  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
  • DOT Driver Qualification file (q-file) and Medical Certification
  • TIA Certification 
  • 5 years of experience in the tire industry
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

 

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Demands:

  • Standing: 80% | Walking: 70% | Sitting: 5%
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces
  • Frequent lifting/carrying: up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting over 100 lbs
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity
  • Constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication required

 

Work Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions
  • Occasional work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environments
  • Occasional shift work and extended days may be required
  • Occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment, moving objects, and roadside work

 

Equipment Operated:

  • Company service vehicles and boom trucks
  • Tire machines, compressors, air tools and hand tools
  • Company-provided software and system for work orders and inventory
  • Required to use protective gear (PPE)
