Position Summary:

The Commercial Loan Processor is responsible for supporting the commercial lending team by managing the processing and documentation of commercial loan applications from origination through closing. This role ensures that all loan files are accurate, complete, and compliant with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Commercial Loan Processor serves as a key point of contact for internal teams, lenders, and external parties to facilitate smooth and timely loan closings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loan Processing & Documentation
  • Review, prepare, and process commercial loan applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Work closely with lenders, credit analysts, and other internal departments to assemble and verify financial statements, tax returns, appraisals, insurance certificates, and legal documents.
  • Track loan conditions and ensure timely collection and resolution prior to loan closing.
  • Maintain organized loan files for compliance, audit readiness, and reporting purposes.
  • Communication & Coordination
  • Serve as a liaison between commercial lenders, title companies, attorneys, and other third parties involved in the loan process.
  • Provide clear and timely updates to lenders regarding loan status, outstanding items, and closing timelines.
  • Address inquiries from 3rd parties involved in the loan process and internal staff in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all loan documentation complies with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or issues that may impact loan approval or funding.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all customer and bank information.
  • Operational Support
  • Assist in tracking, reporting, and managing loan pipeline and workflow.
  • Support loan renewals, modifications, and portfolio reviews as needed.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency in the commercial loan operations team.

Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements:

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm C.T. with a 1-hour lunch break. 
  • This position may involve work outside of the standard schedule including, but not limited to, assisting customers, completing tasks or assignments, work-related events, etc. 
  • 100% in-office position.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 
  • Professional attire required. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lending operations, loan processing, or banking administration.
  • Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation, underwriting processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and banking/loan processing software.
  • Jack Henry experience required. 
  • Laserpro experience preferred but not required. 

**We are looking primarily for a candidate in the Tuscaloosa Alabama area but are open to candidates in the Birmingham or Huntsville Alabama area.
