Job description

MHG is a well-established independent insurance agency serving commercial clients throughout the region. We are seeking a knowledgeable and relationship-focused Commercial Lines Marketing Manager to support producers and account management staff through the marketing, placement, and servicing of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance accounts.
Position Overview
The Commercial Lines Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the marketing and placement of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance accounts while providing technical support to producers and account managers throughout the insurance placement process.
This role requires strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting practices, and carrier relationships. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced agency environment.
This hybrid role is ideal for someone with strong commercial insurance marketing experience who enjoys building carrier relationships, negotiating competitive coverage solutions, and serving as a technical resource for internal teams. You'll work closely with producers, account managers, and insurance carriers to ensure clients receive comprehensive and competitive insurance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the marketing and placement of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance accounts
  • Review client exposures, coverage needs, and insurance program structures
  • Prepare complete underwriting submissions for both prospective and renewal business
  • Market accounts to insurance carriers and wholesalers to obtain competitive quotations
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and coverage enhancements with insurance company underwriters
  • Analyze insurance quotes and coverage proposals to identify appropriate insurance solutions
  • Prepare coverage comparisons, presentations, and proposal materials for producers and clients
  • Maintain accurate account information and coverage details within the agency management system
  • Coordinate the binding of coverage and prepare related policy documentation, including certificates of insurance and auto identification cards
  • Provide marketing support and technical coverage guidance to producers and account managers
  • Assist with the remarketing of renewal accounts and placement of new business opportunities
  • Lead and participate in carrier meetings while maintaining strong relationships with insurance company representatives
  • Serve as an internal resource regarding carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, market conditions, pricing trends, and coverage solutions

Required Qualifications
  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License
  • Five or more years of commercial insurance marketing experience within an independent insurance agency, brokerage, or similar commercial insurance environment
  • Experience marketing Commercial Property & Casualty accounts to insurance carriers
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, underwriting practices, and policy structures
  • Experience preparing underwriting submissions and obtaining quotations from insurance carriers
  • Ability to analyze coverage proposals and negotiate terms with underwriters
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Epic or similar agency management systems
  • Established relationships with commercial insurance carriers and wholesalers
  • Experience supporting producers and commercial account management teams
  • Knowledge of current commercial insurance market conditions and carrier appetite
  • Professional insurance designations are a plus

This role requires extended periods of computer use, including reviewing policy documents, preparing submissions, analyzing coverage proposals, and working within multiple agency systems.
