Job description

As Commercial Finance Manager- Channels and Partnerships, you will be a strategic finance partner to Channel Sales, Partnerships and Product leadership teams for Convera's partner-led growth motions, including indirect channels, strategic alliances, embedded finance and distribution partnerships.
Your mission is to improve commercial decision-making-from pricing and deal structuring to customer profitability and growth investment tradeoffs.
This role reports to Head of Commercial Finance (Partners and Channels) and sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and execution. You'll translate data into insight, insight into action, and action into measurable financial impact.
What You'll Do
Business Partnership & Decision Support
  • Partner with Sales, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, Marketing and Product leaders to evaluate partner strategies, growth initiatives, commercial structures and commercial investments
  • Act as the primary finance thought partner for key commercial decisions, ensuring alignment with financial objectives, incentive design and risk tolerance
  • Challenge assumptions, pressure-test proposals, and help leaders understand tradeoffs between growth, margin, and risk

Commercial Performance & Insights
  • Own customer, product, and channel profitability analysis, identifying drivers of performance and actionable improvement opportunities
  • Develop and maintain key commercial KPIs (e.g., revenue quality, partner contribution, deal economics, cost-to-serve, margin, customer acquisition economics, retention, LTV/CAC)
  • Create clear, executive-ready narratives explaining what's happening in the business and why

Pricing, Deals & Investment Economics
  • Support pricing strategy, revenue share arrangements and commercial terms to drive disciplined and repeatable deal outcomes
  • Build financial models for new partnerships, channel launches and embedded or indirect GTM initiatives
  • Evaluate ROI on commercial investments and recommend course corrections as needed

Planning, Forecasting & Governance
  • Support revenue forecasting and scenario analysis, incorporating commercial risks and opportunities
  • Partner with the broader Finance function to ensure forecasts, plans, and incentives reflect economic reality
  • Help embed governance processes that balance speed with financial discipline

Enablement & Finance Excellence
  • Improve commercial and financial understanding across partner-facing teams-setting the standard for data-driven decision-making
  • Translate complex analyses into simple tools, models, and dashboards for non-finance stakeholders
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, contributing to the development of a high-performing Commercial Finance function
What Success Looks Like
  • Commercial leaders proactively seek you out for partnership on critical decisions
  • Better pricing, deal quality, and customer mix lead to measurable margin improvement
  • Forecasts are more accurate, risks are surfaced earlier, and surprises are reduced
  • Finance is seen as a growth enabler, not a gatekeeper
What We're Looking For
Experience & Skills
  • 7-10+ years of experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, or related roles
  • Proven track record supporting channel, partnership, or indirect GTM models in B2B, fintech, payments, SaaS, or financial services environments
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with a bias toward action
  • Ability to operate comfortably in ambiguity and fast-changing environments

Ways of Working
  • Structured thinker who can break down complex problems and focus on what matters
  • Strong communicator, able to tell a compelling story with data for executive audiences
  • Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
  • Hands-on, ownership mindset; willing to roll up sleeves and execute

Education & Tools
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA a plus
  • Advanced Excel financial modeling skills; PowerPoint fluency
  • Experience with BI tools and large datasets preferred
