Job Posting – Project Executive (New Drywall Construction – Chicago, IL)

Position: Project Executive
Industry: Commercial Drywall
Location: Chicago, IL 
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel: Local project and client visits required (50%+ field time) - NO OVERNIGHT TRAVEL


About the Opportunity

A growing commercial contractor in the Chicago market is expanding their New Construction division and is seeking a strong Project Executive–level leader. This hire will step into an active backlog, support newly awarded work, and play a key role in client management and project delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who is polished, relationship-focused, and experienced managing large commercial projects in the drywall sectors.


What You’ll Do
  • Oversee new construction projects from award through closeout

  • Regularly meet with clients, visit active jobsites, and maintain strong customer relationships

  • Lead negotiations on change orders and resolve A/B-level project issues

  • Collaborate with internal APMs/PMs, who handle much of the internal operational workload

  • Ensure project schedules, budget goals, and quality standards are met

  • Represent the company professionally with owners, GCs, and project partners


What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in drywall project management

  • Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize field presence

  • Capable of owning relationship management more than pure back-office operations

  • Driven, polished, and comfortable handling client-facing responsibilities
