Job Opening for HVAC Journeyman

Location: Shop in Van Meter, IA (Work Performed Throughout Central Iowa)

Job Description: Are you an experienced HVAC Journeyman looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing commercial contractor in the Des Moines area? Join a team that values craftsmanship, safety, and career development while working on a variety of commercial HVAC and sheet metal projects throughout Central Iowa. In this role, you'll install commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, and ventilation systems on new construction and renovation projects.

-Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, and ventilation systems on construction projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installations.
• Hang, install, seal, and assemble ductwork using hand and power tools.
• Perform sheet metal fabrication and installation as needed.
• Ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with project teams to complete jobs safely and efficiently.
• Travel to commercial projects within approximately 60 miles of the Des Moines metro.

Qualifications

• Journeyman HVAC or Sheet Metal experience preferred.
• 4+ years of commercial sheet metal or HVAC installation experience.
• Strong knowledge of ductwork installation, ventilation systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal equipment.
• Valid Drivers License and Reliable Transportation

-Schedule & Work Environment

• Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Overtime opportunities available.
• Commercial construction projects located throughout Central Iowa.
• Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Required PPE provided by the company.
• Dress code: jeans, steel-toed boots, and work-appropriate shirt.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Van Meter, IA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
