Construction Project Coordinator - Commercial & Retail Construction (Pompano Beach, Florida)

POSITION SUMMARY

Florida Construction Connection is assisting an established commercial contractor in identifying a highly organized Construction Project Coordinator to support multiple commercial build out and retail construction projects throughout South Florida.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping projects organized, supporting a Project Manager and the team with coordinating documentation, and ensuring the details behind successful projects never fall through the cracks.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and become an integral part of the project management team from preconstruction through closeout.

YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Support Project Managers throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Prepare, distribute, and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and closeout documents
  • Maintain accurate project files and document control
  • Coordinate permitting activities and assist with municipal agencies as required
  • Track project schedules, procurement status, and long-lead materials
  • Coordinate subcontractor and vendor documentation
  • Schedule meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action item logs
  • Assist with contract administration and change order documentation
  • Monitor project compliance requirements and maintain project reporting
  • Support budgeting, purchasing, and invoice processing as needed
  • Coordinate communication between owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Assist in keeping multiple projects moving while ensuring documentation remains accurate and current

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

  • 3-6+ years supporting commercial construction projects
  • Experience working for a General Contractor
  • Commercial, retail, office, healthcare, industrial, municipal, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong experience with:
  • RFIs
  • Submittals
  • Document Control
  • Subcontractor communication
  • Project Documentation
  • Meeting Coordination
  • Vendor Coordination
  • Permitting
  • Able to manage multiple active projects simultaneously
  • Excellent follow-through and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software is a plus
