Commercial Banking Associate III

Western is looking for an experienced Commercial Banking Associate III to support our Commercial ending teams. In this role, youโ€™ll play an important part in preparing and reviewing loan documentation, coordinating closing requirements, and helping ensure loans move smoothly from approval through funding and ongoing servicing.

This is a great opportunity for someone who knows commercial lending, enjoys working through the details, and takes pride in delivering accurate, responsive support to both customers and internal partners.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As a Commercial Banking Associate III, youโ€™ll serve as a trusted partner to loan officers, customers, and team members by helping keep lending activity organized, accurate, and moving forward.

  • Working with participation banks on new participated loans and ongoing file documentation.
  • Supporting the team with accurate, timely information throughout the loan process.
  • Assisting leadership with updates to team policies and procedures.
  • Helping train new and existing team members on processes and best practices.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflows and strengthen the customer experience.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.
What Makes This Role a Great Opportunity

Youโ€™ll be a key part of the lending process.
Your work helps turn approved loans into accurate, complete, and well-supported customer relationships.

Youโ€™ll use your experience.
This role is designed for someone with a strong Commercial lending background who is comfortable handling more complex loan documentation and processing needs.

Youโ€™ll build strong partnerships.
Youโ€™ll work closely with loan officers, customers, participation banks, and fellow team members to keep everyone informed and moving in the same direction.

Youโ€™ll help others succeed.
In addition to managing your own work, youโ€™ll have opportunities to share your knowledge, support training, and help improve team processes.

Youโ€™ll Thrive in This Role If You...
  • Have a strong eye for detail and take pride in producing accurate work.
  • Enjoy working with loan officers and customers to solve problems and keep transactions moving.
  • Communicate clearly and keep others informed.
  • Take ownership of your responsibilities and follow through.
  • Stay organized while managing multiple files, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Enjoy being part of a collaborative, service-focused team.
  • Look for ways to improve processes instead of simply accepting โ€œthe way weโ€™ve always done it.โ€
  • Bring a professional, positive, and helpful approach to every interaction.
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • 5 years of Commercial loan processing experience, including experience and training with complex loans.
  • Associate degree or two-year college equivalent required.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial and Agricultural loan documentation and processing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while knowing when to escalation an issue.
  • Strong communication, customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally and with discretion.
  • Experience with LaserPro strongly aligned with the responsibilities of this role.
How Youโ€™ll Make an Impact

Success in this position goes beyond preparing documents. Youโ€™ll help create a lending experience that is accurate, efficient, and responsive for everyone involved.

At Western, we value people who:

Build collaborative relationships and support their teammates.

Listen and communicate thoughtfully.

Put the customer experience at the center of their work.
