SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.
NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program

  • Bachelor's of Sciencedegree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Practicalknowledge of engineering principles and practices

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

  • Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as Jama, Cameo, SYSML, Jira, Confluence

  • Practical knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)

  • Experience or certification in INCOSE standards

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

  • Ability to administer baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures

  • Exposure to establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
