The writer will translate operational requirements into timely, believable IMINT/ELINT/COMINT/SIGINT/MASINT/HUMINT reporting and coordinate with internal and external organizations to ensure fidelity with the exercise Operational Environment (OE). This role directly enables training audiences and OC/Ts to train to realistic intelligence production, fusion, and decision cycles during large-scale, multidomain operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intelligence scripting and content development to replicate external real-world intelligence feeds for training audiences, to include but not limited to:
    • Imagery Intelligence (IMINT)

    • Signals Intelligence (SIGINT)
    • Measurement & Signature Intelligence (MASINT)
    • Human Intelligence (HUMINT)
  • Coordinate with appropriate military and civilian intelligence agencies, subject-matter experts, and MCTP staff to validate that scripted intelligence reflects the intended training environment, operational timelines, and classification constraints.
  • Produce intelligence products and reports in doctrinally correct formats (e.g., IIR, TACREP, INTSUM, TIR, assessments, and others) that are suitable for transmission and ingestion by training-audience C4I systems.
  • Collaborate with supported units and OC/Ts to identify the volumes, types, and cadence of message traffic, reporting, and intelligence products that best support exercise scenarios and training objectives.
  • Develop pre-planned and on-demand intelligence products prior to and during WFX to support depiction of Irregular and Criminal Networks across competitive and non-competitive (wrap-around) areas of operation.
  • Work with the opposing force (OPFOR) and Supreme High Command (SHC) to craft dynamic reports (TACREPs, IIRs, etc.) that portray a requested tactical picture or enable OPFOR operations as directed by OC/Ts and storylines.
  • Ensure all intelligence storylines, products, and injects are synchronized with the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL), Exercise Life Cycle (ELC) events, and other scenario control mechanisms.
  • Support real-time adjustments to intelligence reporting during exercise execution to preserve training realism and meet emergent training requirements.
  • Maintain rigorous handling and dissemination controls consistent with applicable classification and security guidelines when creating or distributing simulated and real-source content.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint software.
  • Familiar with current Army and Joint doctrine.
  • BS/BA degree with 5 years of military experience, or High School and 10 years of military experience.

  • Prior experience supporting large-scale collective training (WFX, JEFX, MCTP, combat training centers, or equivalent).
  • Strong writing, editing, and doctrinal rigor; ability to produce clear, concise, and technically accurate intelligence reports under time pressure.
