Hybrid position, 1-3 days on school sites and 2-4 days remote, depending on the week.

JOB TITLE: Facilitator - CTE, Information Communication Technology


REPORTS TO: School Director and/or Designee

THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)


Reporting to the School Director, the Facilitator will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages learners to develop and fulfill their academic potential through Project-based Learning. Most schools have a set curriculum that must be followed, however at iLEAD California the Facilitator will have the unique opportunity to both create and tailor curriculum to the needs of the learners.

WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Incorporate a focus in enriching the curriculum by implementing a plan of Project-based Learning.

  • Provide planned learning experiences in order to motivate learners and best utilize instruction time.

  • Plan, map, develop, and effectively implement rigorous, differentiated, and inquiry-based lessons and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each learner.

  • Create a safe learning atmosphere of trust and respect to ensure a comfortable, engaging and learner created room environment.

  • Establish and maintain outstanding classroom management skills needed to achieve a functional and supportive learning atmosphere.

  • Evaluate learnersโ€™ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare reports of progress, and develop an individual learning plan (ILP) for each learner in collaboration with the learner and family member.

  • Identify learnersโ€™ needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping learners solve health, social emotional and learning problems.

  • Create a functional and attractive environment for learning through displays, bulletin boards, interest centers, and interactive digital or virtual learning spaces.

  • Use a wide range of summative and formative assessment strategies consistent with course content and objectives.

  • Communicate and liaise on a regular basis with fellow department members with regards to planning, assessment, and curriculum mapping.

  • Provide ongoing support and actively collaborate with all iLEAD Schoolsโ€™ leaders and employees to ensure that the mission, vision, values and philosophy of iLEAD Schools is clearly understood and carried out.

  • Represent iLEAD Schools in a positive and professional manner in all interactions and communications.

  • Demonstrate a belief in iLEADโ€™s mission that all learners will learn and successfully master the content and skills necessary for advanced post-secondary education.

  • Communicate and liaise with other school colleagues on issues including discipline and academic student concerns.

  • Take an active role in facilitating Advisory groups to promote social and emotional health and development.

  • Attend and constructively contribute to team/school/company collaborations.

  • Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, and communication with parents.

  • Establish links with the parent community to ensure that parents are kept well informed about learner progress.

  • Participate in and assist with school events as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person/Telephone/Computer)

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

  • When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites.

  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • May encounter outdoor elements: high (>90)/low (<60) temperatures, precipitation and/or wind.

  • Ability to work in situations involving the need to make informed and quick decisions.

  • Ability to supervise/manage workers and delegate as needed in project management situations.

  • Reading detailed documentation and analyzing data sets.

  • Writing professionally, both by hand and utilizing computer software.

  • Speaking in public settings including making public presentations to large and small groups.

  • Dealing and navigating professionally through high-stress situations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING (QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements.

  • Single Subject Teaching Credential - English is required

  • ELL Authorization - CLAD, BCLAD certification.

  • Experience with an education setting and/or real world experience in being non-traditional, flexible, open minded, and collaborative.

  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

  • Very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.

  • Thrive in a collaborative, team based and fast-paced environment.
