Job description

Job Title: Cook

Location: Covina, CA
Job Type: Part-time, evenings and weekends
Compensation Range: $22.50 - $25.00/hr. + gratuity

Join our team at the newest addition to our family of clubs, the Laugh Factory Covina! Our company seeks a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cook. The club’s Cook will be responsible for planning, preparing, and overseeing the food preparations. They will ensure that all food items are prepared to high standards and served promptly during our shows. The Cook will also maintain a clean and organized kitchen, manage inventory, and prepare orders of food supplies.
This position reports to the manager on duty.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepare food items in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Manage kitchen operations during our shows.
  • Ensure that food is prepared and served promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory and prepare for ordering of food supplies.
  • Work closely with management to ensure that food operations align with the comedy club's overall goals and objectives.
  • Clean kitchen and restore food prep items after food service is complete each shift.
  • Safely store and rotate food items to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Deliver food orders to server stations for their delivery.
  • Respond to changes in food operations as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a similar role in a food environment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Knowledge of food preparation and presentation techniques
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a hot and humid environment
  • Capacity to communicate concerns and improvement suggestions to supervisors
