Job Summary

Responsible for monthly close process for revenue and bad debt accounting. Maintains reporting and performs financial analysis related to Subscriber Accounts Receivable and Liability accounts, along with associated reserves, for Comcast’s Residential, Business Services, and Wireless (Mobile) billers. Prepares account reconciliations and monthly journal entries, while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Supports internal and external audit requests and contributes to process improvement initiatives. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline, and acts as resource for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures balance sheet accuracy, performing reconciliations, and verify alignment with the general ledger.

  • Investigates financial variances, diagnosing root causes, and proposing necessary adjustments for accuracy.

  • Records monthly journal entries with comprehensive backup documentation to support.

  • Reviews financial statements, analyzes operational trends, and research variances against forecasts and budgets.

  • Prepares month-end financial reports, analyzing data for management review.

  • Researching complex accounting issues to ensure compliance with evolving accounting policies and standards.

  • Develop and enhance automated Oracle routines, such as mass allocations and reoccurring journal entries.

  • Innovate ways of streamlining and standardizing processes to support the accounting function.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and work independently.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
