Job description

Lead Forklift Operator

The Lead Forklift Operator will oversee forklift operations, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and provide direction to a team of operators. This position offers the opportunity to combine your technical skills with leadership abilities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to forklift operators to promote safety, efficiency, and accuracy in daily operations.
  • Operate forklifts, including single and double forklifts, as needed to support warehouse activities.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and OSHA standards.
  • Supervise the accurate picking, preparation, and shipment of materials, ensuring load accuracy and product integrity.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and ensure that all equipment is maintained and operated properly.
  • Lead inventory management efforts, including participation in physical inventory counts and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage and material handling procedures are followed.
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding team performance, operational challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to maximize productivity and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills And Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Proven experience as a forklift operator, including operation of double forklifts.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and prior experience leading a team preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to work 12-hour variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Capability to lift up to 55 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including working at heights or in confined spaces.
