Join our team to support the to support the Littoral Combat Ship Squadron TWO (LCSRON TWO) at Naval Station Mayport, Florida as a contractor Junior Database Developer designing multi-user, web-based database solutions that power squadron logistics, training, and maintenance operations. In this hands-on technical role, you will build and maintain robust database applications that consolidate Navy data, streamline workflows, and enable leaders to make decisions grounded in reliable, real-time information.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and create databases for metrics analysis using technical, multi-user, web-based platforms including Microsoft Access, SharePoint, MS Office, SQL, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), HTML, and other similar applications.  
  • Collaborate with the Metrics Business Analyst and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop, create, update, and maintain databases used to track and report data metrics. 
  • Provide interpretive analysis from existing and new databases supporting maintenance, sustainment, and other operational needs, including Preventative Maintenance Availabilities (PMAV), Operational Availability (Ao), Material Availability (Am), Train to Qualify (T2Q) Replacement Sailors, and other standard practices.  
  • Develop streamlined processes by creating an initial Work-Flow Analysis designed around current system study methodology to reduce unnecessary work, churn, and duplicative efforts. 
  • Support the LCSRON TWO Chief of Staff and Department Heads on a day-to-day basis in identifying, formulating, developing, and preparing immediate and long-term process improvement recommendations. 
  • Deliver qualitative and quantitative reports, graphs, and charts that evaluate and measure the effectiveness of data collection, analysis, objectives, and goals - including trends, ranked items by performance, cycle times, and analytical support for decisions and briefs.  
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations in the design and development of tools, processes, metrics, and reports that meet business needs.  
  • Produce products that convey complex analysis in easy-to-understand methods such as graphs, charts, and tables. 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited United States college, university and/or equivalent military or commercial experience in database development or computer related fields.  
  • Demonstrate three (3) years of specialized experience in database development and business analysis, with proven proficiency utilizing Microsoft (Access, SharePoint, Office Suite, SQL, VBA), and HTML to build and maintain robust business applications.  
  • Demonstrate the capability of positive interpersonal relationships and possessing a team player's approach to problem solving.  
  • Excellent communications skills and fluent in both oral and written English. 
  • U.S. citizenship and a SECRET security clearance is required for facility access; personnel shall possess SECRET clearance on the start day of work. 

Work Location / Employment Type 

  • Work Location: Littoral Combat Ship Squadron TWO, LCS Mission Module Readiness Center, Jacksonville, Florida 32228, located at Naval Station Mayport, Florida - on-site with Government personnel.  
  • Employment Type: Contractor full-time position  
  • Hours of Operation: Eight (8) hour days, Monday-Friday, 0730 to 1630 local time, with a one (1) hour lunch break.
