Mechanical Engineer - EPS Column/Gearbox Design

Job Description & Duties:

Using classic design methodology, the EPS Column - Gearbox Design Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis and Bill of Materials generation of column EPS gearbox.  

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Math modeling and design alternative analysis
  • Generate Bill of Materials for column EPS gearbox assemblies and champion change control of BOM.
  • Interface with steering system application team members
  • Support prototype and pre-production orders of column and intermediate shaft assemblies  
  • Interface with other regions and technical centers to support new business opportunities,            application design and core technology roll out and application


Qualifications

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • BSME
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering required.
  • Math modeling
  • FEA background
  • Worm/reducer wheel and casting design background preferred
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and the Internet
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
