Job description

Its not every day you find a family business thats been around for five generations. At Anderson Concrete, weve built upon the strength and resilience of our family heritage to provide over 100 years of service to the City of Columbus and all of central Ohio.

We are looking for CDL B drivers to deliver ready-mixed concrete to residential and commercial construction projects, and road construction sites, within specific time windows as established by the customer and by the truck dispatcher.

Compensation

  • Hourly Pay: $28.60-$29.35
    • Union employer with 40 hours guaranteed weekly
    • Overtime after 8 hours a day
    • New Hire Bonus: Once the new hire completes their probationary period, they will receive $500.00
    • Referral Bonus: The employee who referred the new hire will receive $400.00 after the new hire has worked 500 hours. The employee who referred the new hire will also receive an additional $600.00 after the new hire works 1,100 hours.
    • Bonuses for safety, attendance, and production.
  • Paid weekly via direct deposit

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

  • Home every night!
  • Various schedules available (mostly day shift)
  • The driver will deliver 3 to 8 loads of concrete during a normal workday. A typical workday during the busy season (March to November) is 12 to 14 hours, and up to 70 hours per week.
  • To off-load concrete, the driver positions a primary chute which is permanently attached to the truck.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Accepting drivers with no experience or CDL
  • Will help you get your CDL B license. Union pay while training (average 30 days of training)
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift objects from a variety of different positions and variety of weights.
    • Applicants must be able to climb, squat, kneel, rotate, reach, push, and pull.
    • Ability to lift between 20-50 lbs occasionally
    • Ability to lift 10-25 lbs frequently
    • Environmental: Exposure to outside atmospheric conditions, contact with water and other liquids, moderate to loud noise intensity, exposure to vibration, and close proximity to moving mechanical parts.
  • No DUI/DWIs in last 6 years
  • Moving violations and preventable accidents to be evaluated based on driving history
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
  • Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
  • Hiring Radius: Prefer drivers living within 50 miles of Columbus, OH
